Phatshutshedzo Nange made the decision to leave Marumo Gallants even though he still had a contract and, so far, he believes he made the right move to join a club that has a ‘positive project’.
The former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder left Gallants to join Leicesterford in the Motsepe Foundation Championship this season, after the club bought the status of JDR Stars and changed the name.
With his experience in the game, the 33-year-old has been made captain of the team and is determined to lead the club to promotion.
Leicesterford recently conceded nine goals in two matches, but they’ve still made a fairly good start, with four victories and two draws in 10 matches.
They drew 1-1 with promotion chasing Milford FC at Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday. Leicesterford had taken the lead through Kavendree Makhene, but Milford equalised from the penalty spoke in the final 10 minutes of the game from the boot of substitute Cheswyn Philander.
After the game, Nange spoke about his move to the club and gave his thoughts on the draw.
“I am happy. I wanted to play football. The main point to come here is to play football. I want to help the team and I am happy so far with my progress. I will make sure the team comes first,” Nange said.
“I was still having a contract with Marumo. The main point was to play. I had some few offers, but the chairman and the coach (at Leicesterford) spoke to me and they gave me the belief that they want me more and I can help the boys. I believe it’s a positive project and that’s why I came here.”
